Matter Company

Following her studies in environmental science and an intense passion for the natural world, Toronto-based Denise Williams became an apprentice of an esteemed herbalist and completed a certification in Therapeutic Herbalism.

Armed with extensive knowledge of plants and their medicinal properties, Williams set out to create an all-natural skincare range not yet available on the market; recipes comprised of shea butter, plant and herb extracts, and fragrant essential oils without the use of parabens or petrolatum.

Through word-of-mouth praise, Williams launched Matter Company in 1996, a luxurious skincare line inspired by herbalism and the healing power of nature.
